Do Objects Really Offer Protection? Trusting in God's Sovereignty**
Do you really believe that an object adorned with an evil eye can offer you protection or possess power, unless it's been inferred or spoken over it? Can an object like that truly provide you with the level of protection you seek, compared to the Almighty God who is the all-seeing and all-knowing?
As someone who operates a bead and supply shop, I once started selling evil eye beads because it was trending, without paying much attention to its significance. However, the Holy Spirit started convicting me, prompting me to delve deeper into the meaning behind the trend. I began to learn more not only through social media posts but also through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As I did my research, I realized that selling such items went against my faith in God.
That realization led me to discontinue selling evil eye beads. Why? Because I firmly believe that God is the all-seeing and all-protecting. Jewelry adorned with an evil eye cannot provide true protection. Instead, true protection comes from the Almighty God.
In a world where many seek symbols and talismans for protection against negative energy or malevolent forces, it's important to remember where true protection lies. As Christians, we are called to trust in God's sovereignty and seek His guidance and protection in all things.
The concept of the evil eye may seem innocuous to some, but for me, it goes against the very essence of my faith. God promises protection to His children. In Psalm 91:4, it is written, "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."
Instead of relying on symbols or talismans, Christians are called to put on the whole armor of God. Ephesians 6:10-18 instructs believers to stand firm against the schemes of the devil by wearing the "belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
Wearing jewelry adorned with the evil eye symbol not only contradicts our trust in God's protection but also undermines our faith in His power. It's a subtle form of idolatry, placing our trust in objects rather than in the Almighty.
In conclusion, let us remember that true protection comes from God alone. Let us put our faith in Him and His promises, rather than in symbols or talismans. As Christians, our allegiance is to the Creator of the universe, who watches over us and guards us with His unfailing love.
